Protecting our GSK family with Partnership for Prevention
In line with our global mission to help people do more, feel better and live longer, GSK continues to focus on the health and well being of its employees. Last year, as part of this endeavour, we launched a worldwide preventive healthcare programme – Partnership for Prevention (P4P), which provides employees and their family members with access to preventive healthcare services regardless of their location, job role, or pay grade.
GSK is one of the first multi-national employers to create and implement a comprehensive preventive healthcare programme across all its locations, which is set to benefit 80,000 GSK employees and their families in over 65 countries.
P4P offers a core set of 40 preventive healthcare services at little to no cost, which have been selected based on their high value of preventing ill health and detecting disease, in accordance with recommendations by the World Health Organisation.
The services include a range of adults and child vaccines for preventable illnesses such as hepatitis and tuberculosis, cancer screenings, preventive exams, prenatal care and tobacco cessation.
P4P also includes a number treatment options which prevent further disease complications for example HIV, diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol.
Anthony Tropea, International Benefits Manager, GSK, who has been part of the team leading the global roll-out of P4P, stated, “We’re constantly looking at ways to do more for our employees’ health and wellbeing. To my knowledge, we are the first multinational employer to create and implement a preventive healthcare programme of this scale. It’s a step beyond conventional wellness programmes, and we’re extremely proud of it.”
