Our GSK family celebrates 60 years in Malaysia
26 July 2018
For the last 60 years, GSK has been building healthier communities in Malaysia. People are at the heart of everything we do, and to commemorate this long-standing achievement, we gathered 1,174 employees and their families to celebrate during GSK Malaysia’s first ever Family Day at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park.
Bringing together over 1,100 employees from three of GSK Malaysia’s business units and their families, the Family Day initiative provided an opportunity to celebrate the steps GSK has taken in the last 60 years to make a positive difference to local healthcare and improve the lives of Malaysians nationwide. Family Day also provided the chance for employees to celebrate with their loved ones, in recognition of the ongoing support and encouragement provided by the extended GSK family members. Armed with goodie bags and GSK We’re Family t-shirts, attendees had the opportunity to explore the park and enjoy its facilities in a fun-filled day with food, laughter, games and rides.
Ramil Burden, Vice President and General Manager, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical Sdn Bhd, Malaysia said, “At GSK, we strive to make a positive impact in our local communities through innovation and trust. The significant advancements we have made over the last 60 years in our efforts to enhance healthcare here in Malaysia – such as increasing vaccine production and accessibility to medication within therapy areas such as cancer, respiratory and HIV/AIDS – would have not been possible without our employees and the support of our families, which is why are delighted to express our gratitude through initiatives such as this.”
Ramil adds, “I hope in the next 60 years to come, GSK will make an even stronger impact on people’s lives and continue to bring communities together.”
Nancy Cassiere, Business Service Center Kuala Lumpur Head, Malaysia said, “I’d like to express my gratitude to all family members of our employees for their unconditional support and constant encouragement, which propels us to perform to the best of our ability. Together, we can continue to grow and help more people throughout Malaysia.”
Moein Ahmed Khan, Site Director, Global Manufacturing and Supply, Malaysia said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our employees and their family members who attended our very first GSK Family Day. With so much to look forward to in the future as we continue to invest and grow our business locally, we are truly grateful to our wider GSK family for their unwavering commitment to help Malaysians do more, feel better and live longer.”
